VLAN trunking enables single network adapter to act as "n" number of virtual network adapters,
"n" has a theoretical upper limit of 4096 VLAN network segments.
However it is limited to 1000 VLAN network segments.
Trunking brings in higher performance of physical interfaces and cabling at a lower cost.
It increases flexibility and is a perfect addition to firewalls.
In VLAN Trunking, the network switch, adapter and drivers supports "VLAN tagging".
