1. Vlan limits the broadcast traffic within the seggregated domain and hence reduces CPU cycles in switches and performance is achieved in Switches.
2. Security - the data is delivered only to destined vlan.
3. Administration is easy and can be managed from a Single location
4. Buying a VLAN-Aware switches is cheap compared to routers
5. Temporary membership can be given to a static vlan using GVRP
