The answer will be 60 paise.

25% of 12 is 3,which is profit.

20% of 12 is 2.4, which is loss.

3-2.4=.6, i.e, 60 paise.

he will have loss,reason:

12+25% of 12=15

12-20% of 12=9.6

15+9.6=24.6

I hope u have understood my idea.please do mail me some more questions regarding infosys as well as other companies placement papers.

but the merchant gave the 2 lamps at the cost of 12+12=24.

hence, he will have a loss of 60 paise.

sahi haisimple logic:case 1: 12 rs is 125% of what (9.6) case 2: 12 rs is 80% of what (15)so total cost: 15 + 9.6 = 24.6 and he sold in 12 +12 =24so loss of 0.60 paise
