Bending moment at a section is defined as the algebraic sum of moment of forces either on the left or right side of the section.  The load can be any
loads point load or uniformly distributed load etc.

Bending moment is actually meant for check whether the member can take the load or not technically there is method to find out BM at any point but on overall bending is maximum at that point which is the farthest from any of it's support and that's the reason BM is max at centre of simply supp. beam
