look solution to d 2nd question goes like this....

let the fathers age be ab ie, (10a+b) so the sons age = 10b+a

equations are: 10a+b-1 = 2(10b+a-1) by hit n trial u'll get a=2,b=1

so ages are 21 n 12.....

there r a lot of questions...so if u cud just mail me ur id i'll send u d solutions....

Q6) now that there are 51 teams, total no of matches played is one less than the total no of teams = 50

Q14)d=9 and G=4.because,4+3+1+9 = 9+1+3+4 = 4+1+7+6 = 17 u have to apply trial n error method....

Q28)(1/5+1/3)x +3(1/5-1/3) + 1 = x; solve for x . ans=15

Q23) speed= dist/time

s1/s2= (d1/d2)X (t2/t1) solve... ans = 4times

Q21) ans = 120 miles

Q24) ans = 12km

Q19) speed = 45 km, the milestones he sees iare @ 16km,61km,106km

Q20) visitor

rest questions i'll try..cant find a solution now..... for any clarifications mail me at blackdarkice@yahoo.com or just leave ur email id.n all d best

first.....

             7        4     - started(shudnt calculate de time from now)

                as de 4 time glass gets completed start de 4 again.......so when de seven get completed there will b 1 hr remaining in de 4 time glass.....now start to calculate de time......so u get one hr n then use de 4 time glass twice to calculate other 8 hrs.....

Ans for 13th one is 58.....

100-10=90

90-83=7

90-75=15

15+7=22

90-22=68...knows the both

ans for 30th one.....i got 52 ft.....i dont know whether my approach is correct or not.....i'm not confident with my approach.....anyways i'll be giving that to u....and u all guys and gals give me the correct approach....

let the length of the bridge be x....then the length of the train is 2x.....and the distance at which the cow is standing is (x/2)+5

 ((x/2)+5+2x)/(90+v)=3  since i considered 3ft & 1ft as the time gap.....

((x/2)+5+2x)/(90-v)=1     opp.direction 3ft.....same direction 1ft....

solve the above  two equations.....u'll be getting x as 52ft....

guys and gals.....tell me whether this approach is correct or not.....plz excuse me if the approach is a wrong one.....becuz i myelf.....not confident with the approach.......

1) 25 men

2) let ab be the age

then  10a + b= my age=x , 10b+a = my sons age=y

x+y=11(a+b)   the sum is a multiple of 11

also x-1=2(y-1) or x=2y-1  for values of a+b=10 we have x+y=110

ab=73 satisfies all the conditions

5)1000m

consider it as a circular race ,

we know that in  time of their first meeting  a has covered 600 m,

so the next time when they will meet a would have covered 600 m only,

therefore if the next point of meeting is 200m from Q distance travelled by a will be 400m on the onward trip and 200 m onthe return trip

hence 600+400=1000m is the length of the track

dis is ans. to ques. 19, let d first milestone reads xy, so d next will be yx nd d last 1 x0y.let he is goin at const. speed s, so usin dist.=speed*tim,

s=(10y+x)-(10x+y)=9(y-x); dist. b/w 2nd nd 1st milestones ,also

s=(100x+y)-(10y+x)=9(11-x), dist. b/w 3rd nd 2nd milstons.

equatin above givn 2 eqns. we get, 6x=y i.e. x=1,y=6(usin hit n trial)

so s=35mph

the answer for the 2nd question is

parent age 10i+s

son age 10s+i

thn 10i+s-1=2*(10s+i-1)

8i+1=19*s

after solving we get i=7 s=3

so parent age is 73

and son age 37
