There are a number of things you can add to checklist while setting up DBMS and the checklist will depend on which kind of organisation is it. I am assuming you are a DBA setting up DBMS for software development company. Ensure following things exist :

  • you have process in place to get new DB requirements from Projects
  • You have Client Software installed on machine of all the users as a default installation
  • TNSNAMES.ora or any other config files required are made available to users
