What is quality assurance?

contains the audits and reporting functions of management.The goal is to provide the information about product quality to the management thereby gaining insight & confidence that product quality is meeting its goals.

Quality Assurance are mainly handled by Developers.They involve in Defect Prevention while we Testers involve in Defect Detection.

QA is oriented to prevention.It involves entire s/w developement process-monitering and improving process making sure that all agreed upon standards and procedures are followed and ensuring that problem are found and dealt with.

def : All those planned and systematic actions are neccessary to provide adequate confidence that a product or serice will satisfy the given requirements of the customer.

that means meets the customer requirements w.r.to Functionality
and meets the specification with respect to the portabiliy usability cost and time

quality assurance simply we can say that to make sure that devolopped software doesnt have bugs ..........

QA involves the complete process of software development monitoring and improving the process making sure any agreed upon standards and procedures are followed and ensuring that problems are found and dealt with. It is oriented for prevention. it is the meaure to see the quality of the testing process.
