The content of a test plan varies widely between industry, company and project. Nevertheless, I often include the following:

- Purpose
- Product description
- System architecture
2) Scope
- Test coverage
- Features to be tested (in scope)
- Features not to be tested (out of scope)
- Compatibility matrix
- Assumptions
- Risks
3) Approach
- Test objectives
- Test strategies
- Test environment
- System dependencies
- Test tools
4) Process
- Test process and guidelines
- Priority and Severity definitions
- Pass/fail criteria
- Test entry/exit criteria
- Test resources
- Deliverables required for testing
- Roles and responsibilities
- Approvals and sign off

Answered On : Aug 25th, 2005Documents for QA,QC/ Testing depends upon company to company standards and procedures to carry on the process.Generally,Project Plan,SRS,BRS,Design plan,use cases are reqd to prepare Test Plan for QA/Testing,test scenerios,test strategy,test cases,tracebility matirx,acceptance test plan,all types of testing phases' test plan if reqd.,checklists.Besides that,we will be having test result document,bug report document,test matrics documents,etc,The template for all the documents will vary according to company standards.
Following three documents are most required
1- BRD
2- FRD
3- SAD
and Test Plan Document

The answer depends on the industry, company, and project. In some cases, only the Business Requirements Document (BRD) is needed. In other cases, any combination of Technical Specifications, Work-Flow Diagrams, and Wireframes are also helpful (if not required).

If it's change in GUI no need to check functions.
If it's change in Function then we need to check the functinality and recomend regression test for the module.

Alpha and beta testing come under functional testing.
Alpha testing: after completion of the system, the product vendor come to the producer's place and test the whole system in any manner.
Beta testing: after delivered the system to the vendor. the vendor have themself some specific customers. they give the s/w to them to test in real time manner.
