What is cache memory? Can we increase cache memory size as large as a hard disk(40GB)? What are the adv and disadv? What is diff betn swap(solaris) and cache?

I have Win95 installed in my computer. As am usng the company laptop i dint use the system for long. When i tried to use now It got struch after getting the username and password. What can i do with now. i dont knwo where the problem is. I consulted one h/w engineer to c he said to change the entire processor. i dont think he analysed proper.
