Knocking will occur.Diesel will start burning before the ignition of spark as the required compression ratio has already been reached for the diesel due to its lower self ignition temperature.

The diesel will not combustion due to its highest fire point rather than the petrol. In addition to that, compression ratio of petrol engine is less for burning the diesel.

we can not use diesel in s.i engine because s.i engine is not designed for heavy works...if we use it will cause large number of vibration which is undesirable and results in knocking or detonation.

because of their compression ratio...... compression ratio for the diesel engine is much more higher than petrol engine, diesel cant be reached to their self ignition temp. at this compression ratio

Diesel engine combustion is done by compression but in SI engine there is spark plug for ignition so what will be the reaction when diesel will ignited by spark plug in SI engine !!

the engine will stop working and we need to clean the entire fuel system and refill with petrol to make the engine work

first of all petrol in si engine burn only with help of spark plug. whatever the maximum pressure petrol engine only burned with the help of spark plug.but diesel fuel combustion process done only at the maximum pressure compare to petrol. even if you are used diesel in a si engine it cant burned, because it requires high pressure.

Firstly petrol quickly fires bcoz ignition of petrol is more hen petrol engine uses diesel fuel (diesel engine uses pressure & temperature is more bcoz it is volatile) little fuel which is unburnts remains in a engine so more then black smock comes out ,in petrol compression ratio is not more and black smoke comes out & due to the black smoke the outer part of engine chocks. & black carbon freezes there & bcoz of that pressure & friction becomes Red hot ,and the tendency of knocking increases......

if we burned petrol in ci engine and diesel in si engine, the engine will start knocking due high low cetane number of petrol in ci engine and low octane number of diesel in si engine.

Petrol engine doesn't work on diesel. because diesel is less volatile than petrol so it cannot be ignited.that's is the reason working concept of diesel engine is different.

I know that a good SI Engine fuel is a bad CI Engine fuel and vice versa. Diesel has low sit and small ignition delay so that knocking is occurring in the engine.

SI engine does not work with diesel but will be knocking apply petrol in CI engine.

The self ignition temperature of petrol is lower then diesel and also we know that compression ratio of a diesel engine is very high as compared to petrol or SI engine so petrol ignites readily in CI engine because of high compression ratio but it also bring in problem of knocking which is undesirable. So we can say that petrol in diesel engine works but with the problem of knocking which deceases its efficiency.
