Merge dimension is the action in Web Intelligence XI that allows to synchronize two or more data providers through common dimension. Once created, the merged dimension can be used as an object for reporting in Web Intelligence.

The merge dimension can be set up to automatically synchronize objects with the same name, same data type and coming from the same universe. You do this with the "Auto-merge dimensions property".

The feature "Extend merged dimension values" allows WebI to adopt the same behavious as the link dimension process in Desktop Intelligence.
