I work as a Software Engineer and I was informed by my manager that I had to deliver a presentation on the current project to a group of collegues, seniors and officers from other department. This was a mix audience. Though I was very confident about the technicalities, I felt it was almost impossible for me to ensure that each listener got the message.

I research on the net on how to prepare for a presentation and took a lot of support from team members, found out what each person attending was expecting, prepared an outline of the presentation, did some mock sessions. Also, kept some time for questions. When I delivered, I was confident and it was an interactive session. At the end couple of them congratualted me for delivering an excellent presentation.

Now, anytime a presentation needs to be delivered, my manager checks with me, if I am willing.
