Here are a few risk factors in testing:
1) Requirements effectiveness may be ambiguous and difficult to understand.
2) There may be no test procedures to follow, or procedures are present but not
being followed by team members.
3) Testing may require knowledge of technologies that team members are not
familiar with.
4) Stakeholders and/or client may not be completely aware of the software
development cycle and test management may not receive their full cooperation for
deliverables.
5) Documentation that the test team relies upon to perform test activities may
not be regularly updated, are difficult to locate, or do not exist.
6) Functional groups that work directly with the test team may slip their
milestones which may cause the test window to become constricted.
