I Think there is no otherway to to solve this question because you may use Test director or Quality centre tool but all are tracebility Matrix...

Apart from this all automated tool Effective test case document will show the requirement tracability itself.

apart from the traceablity matrix the next option is cross verification matrix.

we can find thru test director or quality center in the test cases coverage along with the status ...this is another approach to cover the urequirements coverage.
