Workplace organization (known as Seiton in Japanese) is one aspect of the 5S methodology.  It teaches that effective organizaton in the workplace makes work much more efficient.  A good example would be the arrangement of tools in an auto shop.  The easier it is for a mechanic to locate his tools, the more efficient his work will be.
