suppose u have a web page for addition of two nos

then u have  input1:

                    input2:

                     sum:

in this form we have two input objects(input1,input2)

so minimum test cases for this form will  be

test cases=inputobjects*1.6  =(ie)2*1.6=3.2(min of testcases it should have is 3) but max can varry

Hi all,

Using Traceability matrix we can check whether the testcases covered all the requirements or not?

Usually This contains columns like

1. Requirements

2. No. of testcases written for that particular requirement

3. No. of test cases executed

4. NO. of test cases failed

5. No. of test cases passed

Thanks

Dileep

actually tracibility matrix is not only the answer becoz trecibility matrix is made by the test lead with some testcase IDS using FRS documents and with these he will check the test cases which are made by the testing team tht is called the reviews.each individual who will prepare the test case have to follow the FRS document.so after writing test cases reviews are conducted with testlead and he we will check out with trecibility matrix.

Most quality management tools have a traceability feature that maps requirements to test cases.  To determine whether all test cases are covered by requirements, perform a backward trace from the test cases back to the requirements.

Thanks Murli for explaining this concept.

Some one said Test cases counted by Login window, its wrong, I think that guy wanted to tell as ....

Total Number of Windows or Screens = Total Number of Test cases(scripts) + Main/Parent Test case(scripts)  (this can happen in Automated Test Cases)

Because each screen taken for validation for each functionality and/or GUI Validation and which also can be called into parent or main test cases.
