the  frequency  is  depends  on  speed  

synchronous  speed= 120f/p  from this  we  know  that f= Np/120 in  india  speed  of alternator is  nearly  about  3000  rpm  and  the  poles  are  considered  as 2.

from  this  we  know  that  f= 50Hz.
Due  the  variation  in  atmosphere  speed  of  alternators  in USA  is 3600 rpm  from  this f=60 Hz
