Data store hold all the static configuration information of the farm like, permissions on applications to user, printer configuration, server configuration application configuration so if data store downs no static information can be modified, changed, added or deleted.

even DSDB will down,users can able to access the application this is because of LHC local host cache memory is saved in every RAM of XEN SERVER,it wil sends the information to the users until server restars.

Because data collect collect all the information for Data base only. So if DB is not available, the user will not be able to access the resource.

Applications will be accessible. Changes to the farm will not be possible. Data store can be down upto 96 hours till then servers will be functional with the help of LHC.

LHC is a subset of datastore. It keeps 4 main information.
1. Application information and its properties
2. Server information
3. Domain trust relationship
4. Information about itself like product code and licensing.

To resolve the application request these information are enough, but you can not perform and static change. and also discovery will not be successful. I think before Metaframe 3.0 information about license was not kept in LHC that is why after 96 hrs whole farm used to go down. After 3.0 even datastore goes down application requests will be resolved because licensing info is in LHC.

In xenapp 7.6, We work with concept of LHC in case of unavailability of data store. LHC is copy of data store stored on each server in the farm.

In Xendesktop 7.6, there is concept of connection leasing as replacement of LHC. It stores past two weeks data.Connection leasing will allow the connections only to the most recently used resources (resources which are accessed in last two weeks)

First of all pls note that there would not be any new server in the farm, we cant configure it. secondly no updates by IMA. Infact citrix will works. i.e user connection will not get impacted but new connection would have problem... there for citrix has made the LHC concept where it has some portion of data store (server name, apps, setting, and policy on that server) that will allow existed user to work.

If data store server goes down there is no impact with the Business/Users, however the Local host cache act as a Data store server.

Local Host Cache Provide the redundancy of the Data store information suppose a server in the farm losses connectivity to the data store a notification is updated to the local host cache to send the all the servers in the farm.

If data store goes down there is no impact to the user already connected and new connecting user because every xenapp server in the farm have the local host cache that is a subset of data store which has the information that are present inside the data store. That is why it is able to handle the user request when datastore is down. But new modification in the form like app publishing is not possible when the datastore is not available.

If datastore goes down there is no impact to the users connected and the new user trying to connect because in each xenapp server localhost cache is there which is a subset of data store which is able to handle the user request during the datastore is in down state. The xenapp server able to perform until the LHC is working fine, but new form modification are not possible when datastore is down.

My Ans is the below if wrong please correct me ...
why because if data store goes down LHC will take care of session, that LHC will store the local XA server information And it mainly collects the information from Data store if Data store goes down no changes will effect that LHC only cache the current information..that is the reason no new connections will accept. And Citrix Admin console will contact to data store by using 2513 port that replication also will fail when data store is not avail.

If Datastore is down, then you wont be able to make any changes in App Center, however users will not be impacted LHC will come in play and provide required data for applications.

If datastore is down meta frame administrator will not able to edit and configure the published applications and farm cant be able to provide applications to user
