The smallest measurement which can be measured by an instrument is known as least count. The least count of dumpy level depends on the readings on staff. Generally we use 5 mm least count staff, so the least count of the dumpy level is 5mm. The least count of theodolite is 20(20 seconds). It can be observed in vernier scale of theodolite instrument.
