What is the difference between an agent and a broker?

Broker is individual and not a part of any organization/company.
Agent works for a company for eg : LIC agent works for LIC.

Yes there is. Let me clarify:-
1. An   agent represents one   Company while a Broker represents the Customer and takes the customer details and goes to multiple companies to get the best quote and services. 
2. A Broker can compare and provide a comparison to the customer, an  agent cannot. 
3.  An agent is only interested in selling the products of a   company while a broker can provide you multiple companies and Multiple Products(like Car, Health, Travel, Life etc.)
