Hi,

I came up with another thought...

the numbers are 8,2,14,6,11,?,14,6,18,12
Now add the 1st number and the last number .. it is 20.
not add the 2nd number which is 2 and the last but one number which is 18 ... it is 20..
So if you keep adding these all the sum equals to 20. So the number next to 11 should be 9. Any thoughts :-)

The missing number is 5!! the given numbers r:
8,2,14,6,11,?,14,6,18,12
Now...
8-6=2.
14-8=6.
again..after the missing number 14-8=6 n 18-6=12!
And so the missing number shuld be 11-6=5!!
Hopefully the answer is 5...if any body comes up wid another answer..plz do post it!!

8,2, 14,6, 11,?, 14,6, 18,12
Answer : 21.

here we can see the difference between pairs...
in first pair : 8-2=6 then
14-6=8

11-?= 11-21=10

14-6=8
18-12=6.

8  ,  2  ,  14  ,  6  ,  11  ,  ?  ,  14  ,  6  ,  18  ,  12

   -6   +12    -8    +5           (*)    -8   +12   -6

Following the series, (*) has to be +5 . . .

So, ? + 5 = 14.

the missing no is 9.

First one is right. If you see the sum of first and last is 20. you will get this for all the numbers give in the question. So the missing number must be 9

Given number are 8, 2, 14, 6, 11, ?, 14, 6, 18, 12

8+12=20
2+18=20
14+6=20
6+14=20
11+?=20
=>20-11=9

Many thanks

21 will not be a best answer as per the rules in maths, your number cross the limit. The max number which you can get is >13. Kindly check the question once again and analyze the number given. you will understand.

Hope, it make some sense to you

Many thanks

Add the first and last number(i.e 8+12=20)

And add the second number and the number which second from last(i.e 2+18)

And so on............

Now the required answer is 9 (i.e 11+9=20)

Ya your thought is right.but it can b done like this.
the series is 8 2 14 6 11 ? 14 6 18 12
here we can tabulate as folows
frm front frm back
Diff (8,2) = 6 Diff (12,18) = 6
Diff (14,6) = 12 Diff (18,6) = 12
Diff (6,11) = 5 Diff (14,?) = 5
=> 14-5=9
So the answer is 9.
