x+(x+6)+(x+12)+(x+18)+(x+24)=100

he ate 8 bananas on the first day. its simple mathematical logic...which we have been taught in SAT or every other entrance exams.

  Was this answer useful?  Yes

x= banana on first day
 for five corresponding days
x+x+6+x+12+x+18+x+24=100
5x+60=100
5x=40
x=8
first day=8
second day=x+6=8+6=14
third day=20
fourth day=26
fifth day=32

let the banana eaten by him on the first day be x. each day  he is eating 6 more than the first day. so x+(x+6)+(x+12)+(x+18)+(x+24)=100. solving this we get x=8. there fore the number of banana eaten by him on the first day is 8.

  Was this answer useful?  Yes

let he eat (x-12) banana on first day
then he will eat (x-6,x,x+6,x+12) on next four days
then according to condition;
                                                 x-12+x-6+x+x+6+x+12=100
                                                    5x=100
                                                     x=20
number of banana that he ate on first =20-12
                                                             =8

                                                                                       ANSWER=8

  Was this answer useful?  Yes

Answer is 8 as
Consider the no of bananas he ate on day 1 as X;
Then no of bananas on day2 - X+6
On day3 - X+6+6=X+12
On day 4 - X+18
& on day 5 - X+24
So the equation becomes
X+(X+6)+(X+12)+(X+18)+(X+24)=100
5X+60=100
5X=100-60=40
x=40/5=8.

let the person eat x-12,x-6,x,x+6,x+12 in 5 days
then 5x=100
x=20
so first day will be 20-12 ie 8 ans.

x+(x+6)+(x+12)+(x+18)+(x+24)=100
5x+60=100
5x=100-60
x=40/5
x=8.
so he ate daily 8 bananas

100/5=20
avg of all term in AP middle term so,
1.2.3.4.5 the middle term=1+5/2=3 on third day he ate 20 bananas,
so 1 2 3 4 5
8 14 20 26 30
so on 1st day he ate 8 bananas

On the first day he would have eaten 76 bananas
2nd day= 82 (76+6 more then the previous day)
3rd day = 88 (82 + 6 more than previous day)
4th day = (88 +6) 5th day (94 +6 == 100 reached)

x+(x+6)+(x+12)+(x+18)+(x+24)=100
so now
6+12+18+24=60
then 100-60=40
40/5=8
so on the first day he eat 8 bananas
and so 8, 14,20,26,32=100
