By using HTML object, We can insert multimedia file into report. At the run time we can see the file.

By using HTML objects we can fulfill some requirement which is not possible directly by Cognos in built components. Example: If you want to know the report running time It s not possible directly while executing report. Like wise while executing reports if you want to perform some task we will go for java scripting in html objects.
We can create blocks tooltips suggestions captions and complex runtime calculations.
