Optimal Flexible Architecture is a set of configuration standard created to ensure reliable Ora installation that require little maintenance. It has a default file naming and Directory layout for naming convention and Directory distribution. It organizes files according to type and usage. It allow distribution accross multiple disks. It separates log file and control file from data file to improve system preformance. OFA facilitates routine admin tasks, manages and administrates database growth. It organizes large amount of software.

 OFA syntax:
.mount point -> /pm
.Home Dir     -> /pm/h/u
.subdirectory-> h/admin/d/a
.control files -> /pm/q/d/control_file_name
