Two pencils costs 8 cents, then 5 pencils cost how much ?
2 pencils = 8 cents => 1 pencil = 4 cents. Therefore 5 pencils cost = 5 * 4 = 20 cents

5 pencils cost ?
cross multiply
8*5/2 40 / 2 20

so 20 is price of 5 pencils

i.e; 2P 8

> P 4 Cents

> 5P 20 Cents

Therefore 5 Pencils cost 20 Cents
