Will someone tell me...after i have created the test cases in excel...and exported to TD...how does test director know my headings...? i mean if i have headings like Source;Requirement number; Steps; Actions; Expected Results

If i have all those heading in my testcases...???How does TD know which is which??Urgent

Hi

To export the test cases from spreadsheet to TD there are 8 steps.

In 6th step we need to map the Td fields with corresponding Spreadsheet columns.

Hence you are the mapping so you can map according to your specifications.

Yes we can copy all the test cases from Excel to Test Director. The steps to to this first we require a an additional ADD-IN.

 That is free a ADD-IN we can get from net. But the simplest way is following if net is connected to your organization.

Open Test Director -> Select Plug-Ins -> Select lowest one (More Test Director ADD ONs) ->select 7.2i home page -> Select MS- Excel Macro.


This Add-on is used to export test to test director from MS- Excel.
The process is as follows-

* Download zip file.
* Save into program file -> MS Office -> Templates
* Extract at same location

Further instruction is given how to map test.
