Hi Everyone, I've loaded datastage 7.5 in my PC running Windows 2000 server. Installation was successful but while running any designer, manager or administrator it is asking hostname, user and password.. I've given hostname : localhost, user : Administrator and password for the same. but it is giving an error in connection "Failed to connect to host: Localhost, project: UV(The connection was refused or the RPC daemon is not running (81016))" ...can anyone help me ...thankx in advance

Hi,

Use ur computer name as the host name and activate the omit check box.

To find  ur computer name right click on my computer-->properties-->computer name and find the computer name.

In your machine installation is done. ok then first you go to datastage software
then setup it is option right click on setup you get the some options. and click the 3rd option. You get the one icon, i.e user name is automatically displayed and you give the password. then successfully entered in any designer, director, manager everywhere.

SYSTEM DATE should be < EXPIRY DATE USED WHILE INSTALLATION,(chk with the software CD to know the Expiry date if u dnt know the expiry date used)

Start DataStage Engine Resource Service, DataStage Telnet Service and DSRPC Service in control panel
- Administrative tools - Services or directly run command "services.msc"
to open services window..
