8 two wheelers having 16 tyres 1 car having is having 4 tyers so tatally 20 tyres.16+4 =20.100/20=5 cars.

car/2wheeler=1/8,suppose car be X & 2wheeler be Y

X/Y=1/8; Y=8X also there r 4 tyre in 1 car & 2 tyre in 1 two wheeler ;

therefore 4X + 2Y=100

Solving these 2 eq. X=5 & Y=40.

8 two wheelers having 16 tyres 1 car having is having 4 tyers. Take multiplaes of 4 and 16.     4,8,12,16,20,24,28       16,32,48,64,80,96.  Tottal number of tyre is 100.. By adding 20 from first set and 80 from second set we will get 100. So 20/4 = 5 cars and 80/2=40 two wheeler

No need to take two variables. (just to optimize and speed up the solving process )its easily solvable with only one variable X. X cars and 8X bikes(say). 4X+16X = 100 -> X = 5 so 5 cars and 40 2 wheelers.

The ratio is 5:40. 5 cars = 5*4 = 20 tyres

40 two wheelsers = 40*2 = 80 tyres

20+80 = 100 tyres

1 car:8 two-wheeler implies that  4 tyre(in 1 car):16 tyre(in 8 two-wheeler)

4+16=20  therefour for 100 tyres we have to calculate 100/20=5

(1 car:8 two-wheeler)*5== 5 car: 40 two wheeler(answer)

Let,

Total number of cars=X

Total number of scooters=8X

Then,

X*4+8X*2=100

Which gives X=5

So it ,means there were 5 cars n 40 scooters in the theatre.

Hi All,

I think solution for this problem is as follows:

Total Tyres(ie 100 )=(100*(1/9))+(100*(8/9))

Solution for this problems is as follows:

Total Tyres(i.e. 100)=(100*(1/9))+(100*(8/9) Ref: 1:8 ratio

            Total Tyres =11+89.

           Therefore = 11/4 : 89/2 (i.e. 3 Cars :44 (2 Wheelers))

Thank you,

let the no .of cars be x ,two wheelers y. so as per the data given x:y=1:8,4x+2y=100solving x=cars=5y=twowheelers =40

Thus the total number of wheels are (1 X 4) + (8 X 2) = 20 wheels

Totally 100 wheels and hence the constant to be multiplied is 100 / 20 = 5
Thus the wheels are (5 X 1) : (5 X 8) proportion
Thus 5 cars and 8 two wheelers will be there to maintain the total of 100..

c:t=1:8 (given)

each car has 4 wheels and each two wheeler has 2 wheels.
so, ratio will be 1*4:8*2
=1:4
no. of tyres will be 1/5*100=20 for cars
for two wheelers it will be 80

no. of cars is 20/4=5
no. of two wheelers is 80/2=40

ratio of 4wheeler n of 2 wheeler is =1/8

so solving mathematically by eq. we get c/v=1/8
v=8c
on solving we get 5 car n 40 2 wheeler

or by hit n trial we get

4*5=20
2*40=80
5/40=1/8
hence proved

Let x be the no of cars, and y be the no of two wheelers. so 4x+2y=100, and ratio is given 1:8, hence second equation is x/y =1/8, that is 8x-y=0; by solving this equations we get x=5 and y=40,

that No of cars =5, and two wheelers=20.

1 car has 4 wheels.
1 two wheeler has 2 wheels.

car and 2 wheelers in the ratio 1:8

8*2 =16 tyres.
1*4 = 4 tyres = 20 tyres.

so 5 cars and 40 two wheelers in the parking...

ans : .the ratio of wheels will be 4:16 i.e. 1:4. so 4x+x=100.
so x=20.hence 20 tyres of car is there alone.so number of cars will be: 20/4=5.hence number of cars is 5 and number of 2 wheelers tyres is 100-20=80.so number of two wheelers is 80/2=40.hence cars=5.two wheelers=40

Using some trick here it goes..
1 car:8 bikes = 20 wheels
1 car:8 bikes = 20 wheels
1 car:8 bikes = 20 wheels
1 car:8 bikes = 20 wheels
1 car:8 bikes = 20 wheels

Total
5 car:40 bike=100 wheels...
hence this says...1:8 ratio..

there will be system:
2x + 4y = 100
8y=x

where x - amount of bikes; y - amount of cars;

16y + 4y =100 >> 20y=100 >> y =5 (cars)
x = 5*8 = 40 (bikes)
