I am an Electronics & communication engineering graduate passed out in july 2005.Right now i am working in an big company as a fresher where i am being trained as an oracle apps DBA.I always wanted to work in the electronics field like embedded,DSP,VLSi etc...but the company is training me on oracle DBA.I am also planning to do MS in electronics...If i remain in this field i.e. oracle DBA for 2 years and then go for an MS degree, would my experience be counted, because i am working in a totally different field now.Or do u i just quit the company and look for other opportunities in the electronics field? Also can you give me your opinion on oracle DBA and its future scope.Do u want me to continue as oracle DBA itself?

If working in electronics field is your dream career, you need to follow it, there is no point in continuing to get trained as a Oracle DBA if your heart is set in embedded, DSP, VLSi etc.,Just go for it.
If you can manage without a job and If you can afford to study MS, then you need not waste time doing what you dont like.
The sooner you enroll for MS, the better it is for you and your career.
Concentrate and do well in your MS, you are bound to get your dream job.

As for Oracle DBA
Career as Oracle DBA is exciting and also provides ample score for growth. Since you are already geting trained in a big company, you might find it easier to grab the opportunites along the way. As a fresher you can give a fillip to your career by geting Certified from Oracle. All these apply only if you have a flair and a candid interest to build your career as a Oracle DBA.
