no da...its 27 only....only shoes are 9 and 18 have only shoes and also shoes and hats...so so 18-9 have both shoes and hats....now if the no of people are 45 then people who have only shoes are 45 - (9 +9) = 27....these kind of problems r done by using venn diagrams

Ans is 18...

9 members have shoes but no hats. total 18 members have shoes.

so 9 members have both....

now 45-18=27 have hats but in that 9 has both.

so 27-9=18 has only hats and no shoes...

Ans is 27...

total is 45.

9 members have shoes but no hats.

18 members have shoes so 18-9 has both shoes and hats.

18 have either shoes or both.

so 45-18=27 has only hats.

Yes da!

1) 9 members have shoes but no hats.

2) they told 18 members have shoes they have not told that they are having hats u have divided 18/2

see 9+18=27 no hats

remaining is 45-27=18 should be the answer

The exact ans is 18. Explanation is given below:

Total members:  45

with shoes but no hats:  9

means rest all the members with hats:  45-9 = 36

But, we have 18 members with shoes as well, so 36-18=18 members are only with hats.

Thanks

It says 18 have shoes. It is only natural to assume that those who have ONLY shoes are included in that 18...therefore the answer is 27.

I think that right answer is 27.

9 is comprised in 18  because 9 is wearing shoes.

so 45-18=27
