How do you ensure that there are duplication of bugsin Test Director?

In the defect tracking window, at the top we can find the find similar defect icon, if we click after writing our defect , if any of the tester already added the similar defect it will tell. Else we can add.

Retesting means if any bug identified in a particular module and after fixing executing that particular module is Retesting, where as Regression testing means executing all that related modules i.e whole build is Regression Testing.

In the defect tracking window type the similar defect words using the Find Ctrl+F in the Edit menu. If the user feels that the defect is similar/same to the defect then no need of writing the defect or else add it.

Before ensuring the duplicate bugs, it is  better to follow the process stated below.
Post the defects of one particular module to one category and when you post the new defect to that particular module user will check the group and if that is a duplicate no need to post or else add it.
This is one of the easiest way to ensure the duplicate bugs.
