Let us define A1=people who ready only A, B1= people who read only B, then we can say that A1+B1+38+8 = A1+B1+46 = T where T is the total number of people.

Now we also have A1+38=T*2/3 and B1+38=T*3/4.

Therefore we have A1=T*2/3-38 and B1=T*3/4-38

substituting in the first equal we get T*2/3 -38 + T*3/4 -38 +46 = T

which leads to T=72

Therefore number of people who read A is 72*2/3 = 48.

this answer is wrong dear!!!!

because,T=A1+B1+38+8 right???

u found A1=48 And B1=54(72*3/4)

then what wil be T?

=48+54+38+8 ..........How this will be right?

if assume tot. =x,then(x-8)=(2x/3)+(3x/4)-38 ...............thenx=72 anda=48
