What is the sysvol folder?

It is a System Volume folder its only created on NTFS partition of the Active Directory Database. It contains GPO templates and logon scripts.

There are three types of Active directory they are
1) Schema partition
2) Domain Partition
3) Configuration and another new partition is application partition it is introduced windows Server 2003 onwards.
