What is turbulent flow through in pipe?

Turbulent flow is a type of flow which is not uniform.  There are some losses in this flow when renolds number > 4000 then the flow is turbolent. It increases boundary layer thickness.

When water particle flow in zig-zag manner then it is called turbulent flow.
