Reconciliation simply means comparison and matching of two books in order to check the accuracy and making necessary changes.

bank reconciliations refers to comparison and matching of data or transaction of passbook and cashbook of a company .ie. cash transactions or cash equivalents and make the adjustments. for E.g bounced cheque, cheque cancelled etc..
