Generally the Alternator or Generator is rated in MVA format rather than MW format.
The reactive power supplied by the generator is then decided.
I think the questioner thinking about the ratings provided on the powerplant like 110MW etc. That rating is the turbine rating.

If the generator is rated with MW the powerfactor must be specified.

So try to make clear of your question.

The reactive power , Generator can supply, can be determined by the Capabilty Curve of the Generator , supplied by the manufracturer.
This is a design criterion.
