Large Size Synchronous Machines
Why almost all large size synchronous machines are constructed with rotating field system type?

RE: Large Size Synchronous Machines
In large type of machines the currents are high so tapping those currents from the rotating armature is difficulty in the point of view of brushes and sparks over there. So we keep armature in rest and to have the mechanical movement btn the field and armature conductor we do field rotating.

In a synchronous motor armature current flows due to revolving flux which in turn rotates the load,but in no load condition armature current is zero hence thr is no revolving flux then how motor rotates? pls give books referance.
