What does command "kill -9" does ?

(Forces a process to be killed. ) But what actually happens behind the scene?

it will kill the PID(process id)

If kill command does not allow killing of a process, then we could use kill -9 to forcefully kill the process by mentioning the PID

speciality of this signal is that it can't be caught by the program with a singla handler. process will be killed upon receipt of the signal
