Microcube is the bulk of dat u get once u have run the query.
when we run the report, data is extracted from database and it comes in the form of microcube, and when it get displayed in the report is actually coming from microcube.

in the simple terms, microcube is logicla description of Bulk of data for perticular report, so that data can be viewed in the different ways, by performing slice and dice, or drilling etc.

When user hit a query its run through BO server to Database and return result back to BO server where BO Server make MicroCube (itself inside) and make all possible combination of the query in the MicroCube and you see the report on screen.

Like WEBI, we can choose our needing fields and become a new query, then we can use our creating microcube for the report.

It virtually seats between report and Database from which we are accessing the data. The three dimension data is stored for display in the report. Cube may contain the fields that are not used in the report itself.

Microcube is the kind of middle ware between report and database, data comes from database and first store in microcube and the populate in reports so all the reporting calculation are based on microcube data.

When you create data query in SAP business Objects the data retrieved and stored in a Micro cube.This Micro Cube is stored along with the report and the report size will vary based on the saved micro cube size. BO reporting engine will use this microcube to display data on the report based on the selected objects.

Whenever we run a query in web intelligence, the data storage structure used to store the results is called microcube. This data remains hidden, untill displayed in the reports.
