Margin of safety is the difference between Actual Sales and Sales at Break Even Point. The Higher is the margin of safety, the better is for the organisation.

MARGIN OF SAFETY: ACTUAL SALES - BREAK EVEN SALES.
MARGIN OF SAFETY: PROFIT /P/V RATIO.
