The hands of a clock coincide 11 times in every 12 hours(Since between 11 and 1 they coincide only once,i.e at 12 o clock).therefore the hands of the clock coincide 22 times a day.

i think the hands of the clock coincide "exactly" only twice a day...coz for all other times there is a slight angle difference bw the hour n the minute hand..except at 12 wen the difference is 0 degrees...

1-2 -1

2-3 -1

...........

11-12 -1

Totally 12 times for 12 hours

so 24 times for a day.

the answer has to be 23 times, allthough their are 24 hrs a day but the number of intervals is 23, and the two hands coincide once in every interval

The clock hands concide with each other 24 times.
since we have 24 hrs in a day.
after 1 o clock hands of  the clock concide,
after 2 o clock hands of  the clock concide,
after 3 o clock hands of  the clock concide,
...
...
...
similarly at 24th hr both hands concide.

So this proves that the clock hands concide 24 times.

Because the clock will tick at 12 and at between 1-2,
bet 2-3, 3-4, 4-5, 5-6, 6-7, 7-8, 8-9, 9-10, 10-11, 12, 1-2,
2-3, 3-4, 4-5, 5-6, 6-7, 7-8, 8-9, 9-10, 10-11, 12

The clock will tick at 00:00 and then at between 1-2
between 2-3, 3-4, 4-5, 5-6, 6-7, 7-8, 8-9, 9-10, 10-11, 12 PM then 1-2,
2-3, 3-4, 4-5, 5-6, 6-7, 7-8, 8-9, 9-10, 10-11,  and between 11 pm - 11:59 PM.
The last time for the day would be : 23:59:59

Now If you count these if will come to 23

on 00:00 hours it would be the next day.

Correct Answer is 23
