The Sybase open server is a major component for handling distributed database systems and thus forms a vital and powerful server side component of Sybase systems. One of the major feature of this is Sybase open server is interoperability.

In the context of Sybase open server a library is used for getting requests from client handling the requests accepted from client and then returning the results back to client or user interface. Similar architecture is followed in the client side and client access the open server by using remote procedure call.

Open Client and Open Server help developers create better applications by making it possible for all elements in a given information system to work together more efficiently and effectively
