How we can do Load testing Manually without using any automation tool ?

I dont think we will be able to do load testing. But, we can check the performance of the application for download time, speed of transaction, response time, etc... without using a tool.
Pls correct me if i'm wrong.

We can perform loadtesting by using JAVA Script.
