Informatica power center 7.1.1 Installation on Windows vista home
Hi,

Can Informatica power center 7.1.1 installed on Windows vista home premium? If so how to install informatica server and repository server?

Dear Boss u can install Informatica Power centre server in Windows vista as same like in Windows Xp Professional.In same way configuration in Windows Xp Professional.

installation of oracle on vista
I have purchased a lenovo laptop, recently with pre-loaded windows vista premium. I have tried to load ORACLE10G, but it says vista is not compatable for oracle10g. THUS, WHOLE PURPOSE OF BUYING LAPTOP DEFEATED. Therefore I request is there any solution to come out with this problem.

2. The laptop is pre-loaded with vista premium. Can you provide me a solution how to load XP Profeesional.  I have not been provided any restore/recovry CDs/DVDs with the laptop.

Hi

This Koti from Hyd.

In my PC Informatica 7.1 installation successfully completed.

While connecting the Repository the following problem occured."{REp-51024} failed to connect to the repository.

Either the server address (ORCL) or the port number (5001) is invaild.

It's simple. Right click on your powercenter setup.exe , go to properties, go to the "compatibility" tab and check "Run this program in compatibility mode for" and from the drop down menu , select Windows XP Service Pack 2. Also check "Run this program as administrator" under Priviledge Level. You are good to go :)

Vista home edition doent support Oracle. Try to install Windows XP professional remember no home edition

You can't install Oracle 10g on Vista. Oracle has introduced new version for Vista OS.
Try that or you can install express edition.

hi guys u could install ora10g on vista home .i have a sony laptop with vista and i did install it and also informatica 7.1 could be installed on vista home.

Informatica Power Center 7.1.1 Installation on Windows XP sucessfully installed but configration server service is problem. One error will come port no 5001 is invalid and user name is invalid what to do.

After struggling a lot, some how I managed to install Informatica 7.1.1 in Vista Home Premium. But the problem is that I am not able to start Informatica Repository server services. It is showing that "Windows could not start Informatica Repository server service on local computer. Error:1053:: The service does not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion".
Can you please help me to identify what exactly is the issue.

Hi Actually - oracle is giving oracle 10g specially for vista and i installed 10g in my personal system(vista home basic) go to oracle site and search for 10g vista.
