How many processors a single operating system can support

hai,

      A sinle operating system can handle any number of processors

     it depends on technolog used to built processor like if the processor is

     dual core HT processor it contans two parallel processors and operates at

    very high faster rate (typically 3.06Ghz) than single core processors like

    others.

Any number of processes can be handled by single OS because various flavours in OS. And various requirements by the system. For example IBM systems OS( solaris OS2) can handle more than 500 processors at a time coz of its requirement, it also dependend on architeture and organization of the system.
