Hi

There is no return code 160 in Vsam upto my knowledge. Its there in DB2 return code. Just check out it may be mainframe response code also.

return code 160 means that the VSAM file is empty and you are trying to open a empty file.

You are trying to open an EMPTY VSAM file and getting return code - 160

IDC0005I NUMBER OF RECORDS PROCESSED WAS 0

IDC0002I IDCAMS PROCESSING COMPLETE. MAXIMUM CONDITION CODE WAS 12

VSAM return codes are documentted in the IDC3009I error message. There are too many to memorize. Either print it off or keep it in a file on our PC. Anyone working with VSAM or VSAM cats will reter to it often.
