An incident is any activity/action/happening that breach/violate the security policy of the company or any damage the caused to the company property.

 

Bringing such thing to the notice of the concerned people is called incident reporting.

Some of the incidents are as mentioned below..

 

Any physical asset such as computers,CDROM damaged or stolen.

2.     Non-usage of UPS

3.     UPS not functioning

4.     Weak passwords/password sharing/Inadequate password complexity

5.     Unauthorized access attempt to data

6.     Disclosing customers/Company confidential information

7.     Improper software patches

8.     Virus attacks

9.     Employee taking out unauthorized data

10.   Stealing/Modifying/Deleting unauthorized data

11.   Hacking

12.   Sniffing

13.   Denial Of Service

14.   Electrical Shocks/Fire /Explosion/Environmental pollution

15.  Inappropriate use of Email/Internet
