Clock strikes once at 1:00, twice at 2:00 & so on. If it takes 6 sec to strikes at 5:00 & 12 sec to strike at 9:00 & also time to strike at 1:00 is negligible than find time spent to strike for 24 hours.

From the quesition itself its clear that per interval (time between 2 strikes) it takes 1.5 seconds...

And clearly stated that at 1pm or 1am no need to calculate the time..

so consider the following table...

Calculate the third column 0+1.5+3+4.5+6+7.5+9+10.5+12.0+13.5+15.0+16.5 = 99??

then calculate for the other 12 hours.. so 99 + 99 == it must be 198
