This is depends upon which automation tool u are using ok..

Suppose let us take WinRunner

in WinRunner we have the check point in Database checkpoint in that u have the Runtime record check

using that we can compare the Runtime record is there in database or not

if u have any clarification plz let me know through E-mail

i will explain the steps u need to take for checking the runtime record check

hi ravi,

this is syam, I am a fresher in this testing field. i have one doubt regarding winrunner, i hops u know winrunner well. my doubt is what is the difference between update, verify, and debug mode in Winrunner. Please tell me the answer as soon as possible. waiting for ur reply.

verify mode is used to do general testing

debug mode is used to debug the TSL script

update mode is used if u want to update the current result folder

You can test data base using QTP or WR using data base check points

-> Just  add the data base check point before adding a record into the data base
-> Add a record into data base
-> Now run the script, it can give the difference..
