Network Management Protocol is one which is used to handle client server relation.. An example of this is SNMP:Simple Network Management Protocol...this is what used in printer... etc.,

In this protocol, the server sends request to its clients for status and the clients replies...

The client is not allowed to contact the server unless and until an erroneous instance occurs.
